GES Kindergartners Shuck Corn
Greendale Elementary School Kindergartners were provided with a wonderful opportunity that allowed them to see, first hand, the process of bringing corn from farm to table. First, students visited Stickley Farm to learn about the process of growing, nurturing, and harvesting corn. Then Mrs. Boyd and the cafeteria staff worked with the students to shuck the corn. Students enjoyed removing the husks and silk to prepare the corn for cooking. The following day, the students were rewarded for their hard work with a fresh cob of corn during lunch. The students loved this delicious learning experience and will remember it for many years to come!
