The Greendale Choir Spring Events
The Greendale Elementary Choir is gearing up for some exciting spring events this semester. The choir recently performed for Greendale’s Academic Review, where teachers and administrators from across the county got to hear the choir showcase their hard work. As a result of this performance, the Greendale Choir was invited to sing at a meeting of the Virginia Association of School Superintendents on April 26th. Before that performance, however, the choir welcomes Professor Shea Clay of King University to work with the students in their annual SpringFest workshop on April 8th. The students will spend all morning and early afternoon working with Mrs. Clay, then give an informal concert to conclude the day. A month later on May 6th, the Greendale Choir travels to Pigeon Forge to compete in the annual Music in the Parks adjudication festival. A full day is planned, with students leaving Abingdon at 6:00 AM! After singing for a panel of judges that morning, the choir will make its way to Dollywood, where the students will spend the afternoon in the park. That evening, an awards ceremony rounds out the day, then it’s back to Greendale for parent pick-ups after 10:30 PM. It’s a quick turn around after that as the choir performs their annual Spring Concert the following Thursday, May 11th at 6:30 PM. All are invited to this culminating performance. Mr. Fore is incredibly proud of the hard work the choir has put into their spring events, and he looks forward to sharing the product of that work with the community.
