Greendale Second Graders Step Back in Time at Rocky Mount
On Thursday, November 3, Greendale Elementary Second Graders stepped back in time at Rocky Mount Historic Site in Piney Flats, Tennessee. Our students were treated to a tour of the site with historic reenactors. At each stop along the way, students learned about various facets of frontier life ranging from sleeping accommodations, to food preparation, to daily living. Students also had the opportunity to learn about the history and significance of Rocky Mount on the early frontier. Following their tours, students were given the opportunity to participate in candle making and soap making. Our kids had a wonderful day and deserve a big round of applause for outstanding behavior and the manner in which they represented the Washington County School System!!!
