Science Science Everywhere!!
In order to begin our science block, Mrs. Kiser’s fifth grade classes at Greendale Elementary reviewed the scientific method. We focused on the steps of the scientific method by doing some very interesting experiments. One in particular was the Bubble Gum experiment. Using a triple balance scale, the students had to choose one of five types of bubble gum and measure its mass. Then the students had to chew the gum for fifteen minutes, and weigh it again. After taking the two measurements, the class then graphed the results. By doing this experiment, the students reviewed the scientific method, graphing skills, and discourse procedures. The students also participated in many other experiments, but this one was bursting with fun!
