First graders traveled to the Barter Theater this spring to see Junie B. Jones in action. They enjoyed a musical that included the most beloved scenes from their favorite characters. They have had the opportunity of reading many of the Junie B. Jones series written by Barbara Park. It was so exciting to see students making real life connections to reading. After seeing the show, students continue to read the different chapter books about Junie B. and wrote about their favorite parts of the book and musical.
The field trip was such a success and it was a great way for students to experience the local entertainment and create new traditions with friends. It has led to many writing opportunities and really captured the interest of our little readers!
