Today, our WGES Student News Crew had the exciting opportunity to visit WCYB! Students were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the studio and newsroom by none other than Teresa Carter — anchor and meteorologist.

They were able to see firsthand how a professional news broadcast comes together, from the newsroom to the lights and cameras in the studio. Our crew asked thoughtful questions, observed the fast-paced environment, and even got a glimpse of what it takes to deliver the news to our community each day.

We are so proud of our budding journalists here at Greendale — their curiosity, professionalism, and excitement show that the future of storytelling and reporting is bright!

A huge thank you to WCYB and Teresa Carter for welcoming our students and inspiring them to dream big!

Dear Families,

We are excited to announce that we will transition our after-school snack program to a supper program. The At-Risk Afterschool Meals component of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) offers Federal funding to Afterschool Programs that serve a supper or snack to children in qualifying areas. Last year, we participated in the program by offering snacks. This year, we are pleased to enhance our offering by providing a cold supper free of charge to all students participating in after-school activities and bus duty, Monday through Thursday each week, beginning on Monday, September 15, 2025.

We look forward to continuing to serve our students with healthy, nourishing meals that help them thrive both in and out of the classroom.

This morning was extra special at Greendale as we welcomed over 200 grandparents and students to celebrate Grandparents Day together! From warm smiles to sweet stories shared across the tables, our gym was filled with love, laughter, and lots of joy.

We are so thankful for the amazing grandparents who play such an important role in our students’ lives. Your love, wisdom, and encouragement make a world of difference, and today was the perfect way to honor YOU!

A huge thank you to our staff and volunteers who helped make the morning run so smoothly, and to our families for joining us in this wonderful tradition.
