GES staff have been playing Survivor this week as part of Teacher Appreciation Week. Staff members have been completing challenges. One challenge was to ask the mayor to come spin our wheel of fortunes. Mayor Pillion came this morning, spun the wheel, and completed her challenge! Thank you, Mayor Pillion, for taking part in our Survivor challenge.

Families,
We often take for granted the time that teachers spend with our children. However, it is in those moments that lifelong lessons are learned that leave a legacy. Please reach out to your child’s teachers to thank them for the legacy they are helping you build through empowering our most valuable resource; our children.
Thank you,
Dr. Perrigan

Regarding the Heating and Cooling Update that was sent out from Central Services today, GES has HVAC systems with no boiler or cooling tower. Our systems can switch between heating and cooling as we need it. Be aware that sometimes the air conditioning can be quite chilly so students may want to have a light jacket or shirt as needed.

Heating/Cooling Update:
During this transition time in Spring, it is always difficult to determine when to "switch over" the heat to air conditioning. Once the switch is made, it is very difficult and time consuming to switch back. Therefore, we try to determine the most effective time to make that switch.
After consultation with school administrators and staff it was decided to begin the process. All the schools with boilers have the heat turned off and the process of switching over has begun. The schools with cooling towers will be able to have air as soon as the process of cleaning the towers is complete. This process is anticipated to be completed by early next week.
Thank you for your understanding,
WCPS Schools
Please follow the link below to complete a survey regarding your educational experience with Greendale Elementary. Our school will be utilizing this data to complete our Schoolwide Title I application for the upcoming school year. By becoming a Schoolwide Title I school, our interventionists will be able to work with any student K-5. We are currently a Targeted-Assistance Title I school where interventionists work with K-2 students.
